Teaching, Directing, and Choreography

Children’s Theatre Charlotte

Teaching at one of the largest Children’s Theatres in America has been an absolute dream. Children’s Theatre Charlotte is a welcoming environment that encourages children to grow their skills, explore their imagination, and challenge them to overcome any obstacle. With CTC, I’ve directed and choreographed for various shows such as Frozen, Matilda, and The Hobbit, taught specific acting courses such as Musical Theatre Auditions, Creating Characters, and Audition Monologues, and became the resident drama teacher at Charlotte LAB School.

Charlotte Christian School

Thanks to the incredibly talented and passionate Director of Theatre at CCS, Miss Claire Hilton, I found my first teaching gig in Charlotte at Charlotte Christian School. From 2021-2022, I choreographed CCS’s elementary school production titled Jubilee Junction, assisted with a high school cabaret, Find Your Spark, and assistant directed the middle and high school fall musical The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I am so grateful my teaching career grew in an environment where I was inspired and challenged by my co-workers.

Lynchburg Elite Dance

During the hardships of the pandemic, I was blessed with the opportunity to become a dance teacher. I led 3 dance classes at LED: Elementary Ballet, Kinder Tap/Jazz, and Musical Theatre. With this wide range of ages (5-16yrs) and styles of dance, I gained an immense amount of experience and knowledge in teaching. Each class learned dance history, dance vocabulary, and a new combo every other week!

Fostering Creativity

As a teacher and working artist, I am passionate about fostering creativity in all spaces. Creativity is the new “smart”. We must encourage young audiences to seek new perspectives and new answers. Every human is capable of it. I create space for freedom, improvisation, and choice for my students. In doing so, my students see their own growth clearly and find more success in their work.
